When You Walk In Purpose You Become Fear Less!

Updated: Aug 7, 2020

Why are fearful? When you read the Bible, before God would ask people to do anything he would address the elephant in the room, FEAR! He would give them a prep talk on fear not! When you have fear it makes it difficult to walk in faith to fulfill your purpose! The voice of fear may speak louder than your faith at times. There were times that I was given tasks and I had doubts. I would ask myself why are they asking me to do this. There are so many other people that are equipped to perform this task! I would complain to God about it. I would even pray and ask him to please assign this task to someone else. But the truth of the matter is that situation helped develop the weak areas of my life.

When I think of fear, I think about public speaking! I had to take this public speaking class so I could obtain my degree. I waited until I had completed the majority of my classes and I couldn’t but it off any longer! I was so annoyed that I had to take this stupid class, after all why would a teacher have to take this class! 🤣😅 I made so many excuses on why I didn’t need to take this class. My professor said you have Glossophobia! The majority of people would rather go to the dentist and get their teeth pulled out than speak in public! I thought to myself, this is going to be the longest semester of my life! Well, I can stay that it truly was. When I attempted to speak I would break out into massive sweats! My entire face, back and underarms would be wet from the fear of thinking about speaking to a room of my peers! When it was my turn to speak I would stuff my armpits will toilet paper from the bathroom in hopes of it catching the sweat. So atleast I could leave the class with a dry shirts and not look like someone threw water on me.

So, I decided to read about Moses, to calm my fears! The unique thing about him is that he had a speak impediment and that God selected him to be his messenger and mouth piece to a nation of people! Why would God do that I thought to myself? Why would he almost want to give the person that he created anxiety, panic attack or a heart attack? As I read about Moses I discovered that purpose and being fearless will motivate and develop the strength that God has already placed within you. Moses already possed the skill set need to accomplish God’s vision and goal. Mose had to learn to trust God! When you learn to trust God it takes the pressure off of you attempting to complete various tasks in your own strength. It puts your focus back on the one that created you and gave you the vision! When he gives you the vision it equips you with desire and a sense of purpose to get it done. Moses had to listen and depend on Gods voice and it his own. He had to dismiss and block his own thoughts and doubts to pursue and hear Gods. When you have fear you are focused on yourself and not others.

So after I reading this I decided I can do this! I mediated on fear scriptures and stuffing my arms pits with toilet paper! While I spoke I made sure to make eye contact and the more I spoke I became fearless! A level of confidence rose up within me a sense of assurance took over my mind. After spoke my professor and classmate clapped and I immediately when back to my seat. My professor said that speech was the best one that she has heard from all of the classed that she taught! The lesson here is that purpose is something that drives us to fulfill Gods will in our lives! With out purpose you can’t reach your destiny! Purpose is the the voice on the navigation system while the destiny is when you arrive to that destination! As you drive there might be detours and rerouting that takes place. During that time it’s your vision of how the destination will look that keeps you focused to endure and listen to the Fathers voice. As you listen your faith and trust is developed and it ignites FEARLESSNESS that you can WALK in!
